Hi, I’m Kate. Yep, just Kate!
I’m a commercial photographer based in sunny (and snowy) Colorado. Although I can’t claim to be a true native, my family moved to Denver when I was four so that pretty much counts, right?
My work is primarily focused in the food and beverage world, and that’s not by accident. I’ve been in kitchens for years making Katetastrophies™, testing and deviating from recipes to make them my own. I have a plant-focused diet due to being dealt an unfortunate hand of food allergies, but truth be told it’s been the source of my passion in the kitchen and on set.
When I’m on set you’ll notice there’s no shortage of smiles and great music. I’m lucky to be able to go to work and do something I really (really) like. I love assembling a team of experts and working together to produce work that pushes past the expected. I know I’ve done a good job when the scope has been met but we have juuuuust a little more time to continue pushing for that extra 10 percent.
I know it sounds cliché to hear photographers say they have good attention to detail. Just hear me out: I’m obsessed with it. I’m not talking about the image. Of course there’s that part, but it’s everything else too. Your experience, the creature comforts, the process from conception to delivery. All of it.
A few fun facts: I’m a huge book nerd. Ask me for a reco and I’ll tell you about the six I’m likely currently juggling. I’m also a dog mom to a Golden Doodle named Ingrid. And, of course, being an (almost) native, you can find me on two wheels on trails in the warm months or a snowboard in the winter (sorry skiers). I’ll rip past you on my board unless it’s a catwalk. Always avoid catwalks.
Thanks for being here, please reach out to discuss your projects!
